A life-long resident of Sacramento, California, Derek Steffen works as a fiction editor, author, and writing consultant. He began developing a passion for literature when listening to old-time radio detective shows. Since then, he has come to recognize that all forms of literature, even children’s stories and picture books, are worthy of literary pursuit. Derek Steffan of Sacramento earned a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in English from Sonoma State University.
